Elan Valley

The Elan Valley is a series of reservoirs in Mid-Wales which were built to create a clear water supply mostly to the midlands of England.
The water is collected in these valleys and transferred via gravity to the outskirts of Birmingham for treatment.

The nearest town is Rhayader which hosts a wide variety of pubs and accommodation.
The area is superb for walking and cycling and well worth a visit.
