Scafell Pike
25/06/2013 / 8.6 Miles
I have always wanted to wake up to a sunrise on Scafell Pike (highest place in England) so I walked up in the evening after completing Fleetwith Pike and Haystacks earlier in the day.
With the weather forecast being rather good, I stayed out on the summit to catch the sunrise the following morning.
I Set off from Seathwaite and walked in an anticlockwise direction up Taylorgill, past Styhead Tarn then took the
'Corridor Route' past Piers Gill then veered left up to the summit.
After roughing it overnight, I woke up to a sunrise on the summit of the highest place in
England... priceless!
The descent took me over Broad Crag, down Esk Hause
and Grains Gill back to Seathwaite.
